Abstract :

Birds, and notably “aquatic” species, were exploited by human communities of the Levant countries (numerous Anatidae) and of the Arabian Gulf shores (cormorants), since the Prehistory beginning. These birds were widely hunted for their flesh and, sometimes, their bones (industry and ornaments) and their feathers (ornamentation).

KEY WORDS: LEVANT, ARABIAN GULF, PREHISTORY, PROTOHISTORY, ARCHAEOZOOLOGY, “AQUATIC” BIRDS.
